Welcome back to the second edition of The Adelphi Oracle, which brings you the latest news from Adelphi and all of our partners.

The Adelphi Group has been granted planning permission for the development of its premises and will be building a new home for Adelphi Tubes and its sister companies.

Two new purpose built offices have been planned for the Adelphi site and the current Olympus House will be demolished and rebuilt to accommodate the ever growing team which now exceeds 40 employees.

Adelphi, as distributors for West Pharmaceutical Services, offer New Generation Flurotec® stoppers from stock.

Flurotec® coated stoppers provide an effective barrier against most organic/inorganic extractables/leachables to minimise interaction between drug and the stopper. Using a stopper with Flurotec® barrier film can reduce the risk of loss caused when active ingredients, preservatives, stabilisers and buffer systems extract materials from the elastomer, resulting in aggregation and drug degradation that can cause protein unfolding.

Adelphi's 10ml Sterile Vials now have a 3 year shelf life!

We were asked by some of our customers whether we could investigate the possibility of increasing the shelf life on the 10ml Sterile Vials from 2 to 3 years after manufacture.

Tests were conducted for sterility, endotoxins and internal pressure and results showed that 100% of the samples tested were found to be sterile, apyrogenic and had retained an internal pressure in line with the specification meaning that the shelf life was able to be increased!

With the ever increasing emphasis on patient and staff safety in hospitals as well as the movement of patients away from being treated in hospitals, we are delighted to be able to offer these MediMop needle free vial and ampoule adapters which aid in the safer transfer, reconstitution and administration of drugs.

The Linhardt Multiflex-Tube® offers all of the advantages of a laminate tube without any of the disadvantages. Contrary to the lamination process there are no distinctive weld seams since the layers are not overlap-wealded, but fused bluntly and reinforced with a thin plastic strip.

Also, being a multi-layer tube means that a combination of barrier layers and decorative layers can be used, giving an end result of an attractive tube suitable for sensitive products.
