Zep UK Ltd has been a leader in auxiliary chemicals for both civil and industrial maintenance since 1937. Their products serve multiple sectors, including industry, institutional, food and beverage, water treatment, transportation and automotive, building and construction, professional cleaning and maintenance, and paper, safety, and equipment.
Zep’s portfolio includes over 1,000 premium products, filled into 20 different bottle types, ranging from 100 ml to 5 litres.
The Challenge
Zep were previously operating three very old filling machines, which Operations Manager Mike Goodwin described as being “past their useful life”.
These machines were unable to deliver the required production capacity or consistent performance. Frequent breakdowns were holding Zep back from achieving their projected growth plans.
The Solution
To resolve Zep’s requirements, Adelphi Masterfil supplied two filling solutions:
- S1000-A fully automatic 8-head filling machine
- S5000-A fully automatic 8-head filling machine
Both machines were supplied with Mastercap automatic indexing cappers, providing a complete, high-performance filling and capping solution.

Reduced Waste and Increased Throughput
Adelphi Masterfil’s fully automatic filling machines incorporate a range of features designed to reduce waste for customers such as Zep. High-precision filling accuracy of ±0.2% minimises product waste, while ‘No container, no fill’ sensors reduce unnecessary container loss. Quick-release nozzles enable tool-less changeovers in seconds, allowing fast transitions between different containers and products.
Mike explains: “We have been able to gain the production outputs we were looking for, which has helped drive down operational spend and therefore increase profit for the business.”
