How Our Semi-Automatic Filling Machine Adapts to Meet Your Needs

When investing in filling machinery, businesses often face a dilemma: choose a standard off-the-shelf model with limited functionality, or opt for a fully bespoke solution with higher costs and longer lead times.

At Adelphi Masterfil, we offer a smarter middle ground. Our standard semi-automatic volumetric filling machine provides a flexible foundation that can be adapted to meet a wide range of industry-specific requirements, including Twin-Head configurations, ATEX compliance, food-grade specifications, and more.

A prime example of this adaptability is our collaboration with Evans Vanodine. They required a solution capable of handling multiple container sizes, from 5L to 1,000L. Instead of developing a fully bespoke machine, we customised our standard semi-automatic filler by integrating a boom arm. This enabled efficient handling of multiple container sizes on a single machine, demonstrating the advantages of working with a supplier who prioritises flexibility and cost-effectiveness.

Rather than reinventing the wheel for every customer, we leverage proven technology and years of engineering expertise to tailor solutions efficiently and economically. This approach supports businesses scaling up to meet growing demand or adapting to new product lines, including flammable or high-viscosity liquids.

Standard Configuration – Proven Performance

Already used by over 1,000 manufacturers worldwide, the semi-automatic volumetric filler combines speed, accuracy, and robust engineering in a compact footprint. Handling fill volumes from 250ml to 5L (up to 30L with multi-shot), the machine is self-priming and self-pumping, allowing immediate production improvements.

Easy changeovers between container sizes and fill volumes reduce costly downtime, increasing profitability. The semi-automatic filler is ideal for businesses seeking improved fill precision and reduced waste without overcomplicating processes or investing in a fully automated line.

Twin-Head Option – Double the Output, Same Floor Space

When increased throughput is required, the twin-head configuration allows two containers to be filled simultaneously, effectively doubling production capacity while maintaining the same footprint. This is an efficient solution for businesses scaling up or experiencing spikes in demand without investing in fully automated systems.

Weigh Scale Option

For sectors such as food, chemical, and pharmaceutical, accurate fill weights are essential. The weigh scale option monitors under- or over-filled units in real time, helping meet DOT and DTI certification requirements (No 2001/15) and providing an added layer of quality control.

ATEX-Compliant Model – Safe Handling of Flammable Liquids

Handling flammable or high-ethanol formulations requires precision and compliance with strict safety standards. Our ATEX-certified model is designed for potentially explosive environments, protecting both product and personnel.

A fume extraction flute reduces potentially explosive vapours during filling, mitigating explosion risk and limiting exposure to harmful fumes.

Food-Hygiene Design – Built for FDA Compliance

In food and beverage production, hygiene is critical, and machines must withstand daily exposure to aggressive cleaning chemicals. The Food-Hygiene variant features perforated stainless steel guards and other modifications to maintain long-term durability while complying with strict hygiene standards.

Adelphi Masterfil implemented these hygiene-focused adaptations for Avondale, ensuring that every drop of milk produced met the highest purity and safety standards.

Remote Nozzle Adaptation – For Large or Palletised Containers

Remote nozzle filling is ideal for containers that are too large for standard drip trays or exceed safe manual handling weights. It reduces double handling, allowing containers to be filled directly on pallets.

The semi-automatic filler can switch between the remote nozzle and standard pump via a three-way valve, enabling flexible filling from 1L up to 20L+ while maintaining a small footprint.

Back Flush Adaptation

Back flush systems clean the product cylinder while the machine remains in use, ideal for food applications or chemicals prone to crystallisation. Two variants are available: one with a dedicated tank and one plumbed into the customer’s cleaning system. This increases efficiency, allowing production and cleaning to occur simultaneously.

Custom Neck Locator – For ‘Bag-in-a-Box’ Filling

The custom neck locator ensures the bag remains in place during filling. Plastic tops clip securely while the free-moving bag inside the box is filled accurately. Riviera Drinks reported that this adaptation “greatly increased the speed of filling.”

Tailored for Your Process

The adaptability of the Adelphi Masterfil semi-automatic filler ensures there is a configuration to suit each business’s unique requirements. Every add-on is engineered with real-world production challenges in mind, providing flexibility without compromising on quality, safety, or efficiency.
