N&C Building Supplies is a long-established manufacturer and supplier of tile adhesives, grouts, primers and sealants to the construction industry. Having begun trading internationally in the 1960s, the company is now a recognised force within the global adhesives market, supplying distributors and customers in more than 70 countries worldwide.
After developing its specialist tile adhesive in the 1950s, N&C has continued to grow steadily and now employs over 250 staff nationwide, with 26 employees based at its UK production facility in Stoke-on-Trent.

When searching for a new automated filling solution, N&C evaluated several packaging machinery suppliers. However, as their production facility already operated a Masterfil filling machine purchased prior to the 2007 merger with Adelphi, there was a clear front-runner.
“When making the decision to purchase a new machine, we were already familiar with Adelphi Masterfil’s equipment,” explains Operations Manager Peter Till, “and it was known to be reliable.”
This proven reliability, combined with the promised filling accuracy of the S5000-S two-head semi-automatic filler, were the key factors influencing N&C’s decision to invest once again with Adelphi Masterfil.
Factory Acceptance Testing Builds Complete Confidence
Before finalising the order, N&C Building Supplies attended a Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) at Adelphi’s West Sussex manufacturing facility.
Mr Till describes this stage as a “crucial and helpful” part of the purchasing process:
“It fills you with confidence to see the machine working as it should, and we could see the accuracy for ourselves – it left no room for doubt.”
The FAT provided assurance that the filling machine would meet N&C’s exacting performance and accuracy requirements before installation on site.
Turnkey Project Management Simplifies Production
In addition to supplying the S5000-S semi-automatic filler, Adelphi Masterfil also delivered the machine with an integrated labelling system, helping streamline N&C’s production process.
“Pre-labelling hundreds of bottles can be such a hassle,” laughs Mr Till - a challenge now eliminated thanks to Adelphi Masterfil’s turnkey project approach.
