Injection moulding and extrusion company Nordell has spoken out this week, saying that “the skills gap in the UK manufacturing industry is going to widen unless the Government assists schools and universities in changing the perception of the industry to help attract young talent”.
Adelphi have a long and successful history of employing and nurturing apprentices, who often then progress within the company.
Lauren Valente – Accounts Assistant, former apprentice
In 2014, Lauren began her BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Business Administration, completed through Rewards Training, and was awarded her certificate in December 2015. She chose modules relevant to the role at Adelphi, including; Communication in Business Environment, Business Document Production & Information Management, Development of Working Relationships and more. Lauren is now completing further study in the form of her AAT finance exams, at which she is excelling, achieving 100% in a recent examination. We are all extremely proud of Lauren’s achievements, and are excited to facilitate her further development at Adelphi.
Alex Vannan – Warehouseman, former apprentice
A spontaneous step into Adelphi has paid dividends for warehouseman Alex! After taking a chance that the Warehousing apprenticeship offered by Crawley College would suit his skill set, he hasn’t looked back, and graduated with flying colours in 2017. He proved himself so capable that Adelphi didn’t hesitate to offer him a full time role when the apprenticeship ended.
Joanna Armstrong – Sales Administrator, former apprentice
Joanna’s Apprenticeship course was a BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Business Administration, which she completed in September 2018. Her responsibilities included raising quotes and sales orders, invoicing, ensuring that all sales orders went out on time, answering day to day enquiries and the annual stock take. She has since commented that “I would always have Friday afternoons to work on my apprenticeship tasks only, as you need to do most of it at work; some of the other apprenticeships I looked at did not allow this to happen. Also, I was always treated like any other member of staff so I never felt like an apprentice. I always felt supported both by Sam, my manager, and by Adelphi as well”.
Would you like to work for Adelphi as an apprentice?
