“Technology is key” to next 70 years of the NHS
“The NHS has the chance to put itself at the heart of our increasingly digitally-lead society if it embraces the technology at its disposal”, states Richard Bennett of Building Better Healthcare. “Technology is starting to help us… to be innovative within the immensely tight budget restrictions that the NHS is under”.
Adelphi holds its roots in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry: we have been supplying to the pharmaceutical manufacturing side of a number of key NHS hospitals for many years, and we were proud to get involved and show our support to the NHS on its 70th birthday this month.
One of our most well-documented partnerships is with the pharmacy manufacturing unit at Guys & St Thomas’ Hospital. In August 2017, the unit at assisted Adelphi with the pre-launch trials of the Apollo II liquid inspection unit. As they already owned Adelphi ampoule filling machines, stainless steel process vessels, and several other smaller-scale pieces of laboratory equipment, Guys were happy to build upon their existing relationship with Adelphi and be involved, and their feedback was excellent.
The Apollo II has gone on to become our most popular product for clients in the hospital, healthcare, research and pharmaceutical industries. It provides a simple method of detection for any visible particulate contamination present in clear liquids contained in ampoules, vials, and bottles. Significantly, the Apollo II conforms to European Pharmacopoeia Specification 2.9.20, which assures clients of a high quality standard and takes the hassle out of purchasing.
Other Adelphi Group products currently in use within the NHS include Rota ampoule filling machinery for high volume production, the OC ampoule opener/closer, custom designed mixing tanks for specialist pharmaceutical applications, tablet/capsule counting trays, suppository/pessary moulds, bottles, vials, ampoules and more.
All Adelphi staff are highly knowledgeable with regards to the strict regulations that pharmaceutical manufacturers must adhere to, as well as GMP standards. Our mixing and storage vessels and stainless steel containers are all supplied in 316L pharmaceutical grade stainless steel, and the same applies to all product contact parts on our machinery. With the use of our X-ray analyser, we can provide full traceability on our material, accompanied with the relevant certification for clients’ peace of mind.
Adelphi’s equipment is specifically designed for use with the manufacture and packaging of liquids into vials, ampoules, syringes, bottles and tubes. If you require supply of the containers themselves, our sister company Adelphi Healthcare Packaging can assist you.
